Your company logo is symbolic of your identity and an integral part of branding your business. I am a firm believer your company logo must have the following elements, and if it does not, perhaps a change is necessary.
- It should be clever and meaningful.
- It must be memorable.
- It must be classically inspired and timeless.
- It must be versatile to not visually compete when placed on website, letterhead, step and repeats etc.
FedEx Express developed a logo that infers movement. Notice the space between the E and the X creates an arrow, denoting movement. It is a good example of using empty space to create a relevant shape.
But most of all you must love it. During client meetings I always ask the question, “Do you love your company logo?” If you do not, it’s time to make one you will.
